White Gold is Back

October 20, 2009

This is a song from the rock opera “Battle for Milkquarious” and it’s fantastic. White Gold and Strawberry Summers light up this intergalactic milk universe until tragedy strikes. Will I drink more milk now? The answer is yes.

These are quick 15s, but effective and funny in those 15.

Keep up the Neighbors

October 5, 2009

Such a good idea. The Amnesty International music festival is held in France over October 22nd-25th benefiting human rights. What better way to show it than keeping up the political leaders — that do not represent human rights — all night long with blastingly loud music.

Way to Go, Creatives. Stick it to them.

Clean design. Clear concept. Dirty execution. Perfect.

Shadow Puppets

September 9, 2009

A cool spot that took a huge spectacle, shared it with the world and then created a brand voice around it. A great example of one person’s art form and making it larger than life.

SOUR – Hibi no neiro

July 14, 2009

Had to share this with a smile on my face. This music video was shot for Sour’s ‘Hibi no Neiro’ (Tone of everyday) from their first mini album ‘Water Flavor EP’. The cast were selected from the actual Sour fan base, from many countries around the world. Each person and scene was filmed purely via webcam.

Director: Masashi Kawamura + Hal Kirkland + Magico Nakamura + Masayoshi Nakamura

A Story of Fake Finance

July 9, 2009

I love this spot. It reminds me of a Twighlight Zone episode, mixed with some Truman show, thrown in a vat of I am Legend starring Will Smith. (What’s up, Will—holla) Just watch and enjoy. This is a rare occasion where I wish I could see more reactions, props, fakery — and him running around. I love it. You love it. Admit it.

Great job, Creatives. Venables Bell & Partners killed it.

BMW Kinetics is Branding that Moves

June 29, 2009

This sculpture is amazing. It is made up of 714 metal balls on strings that shape into different BMW shapes accompanied with a voiceover and light project words on the wall. After about a minute it really becomes interesting. When a brand becomes art — it becomes impossible to ignore, and heard to forget.

Great Job, Creatives. Good luck at Cannes.
